Notes

quatic plant growth on the water surface for about 2/3 of the channel at sampling site; channel clear below site.  It is not an algae bloom but rather a very good crop of aquatic plants. I thought some of the matt Pat Tait reported on might be present but could not find any. Almost stepped on a 2 foot long black snake who was sunning himself on the path. I had a good look at the small dam separating the Snye and Mississippi; no zebra muscles observed. I will contact the hydro worker who lives beside the dam and maintains it to keep an eye out for zebra muscles
